SIGNAL HILL / SIGNATURE PARK
Signal Hill / Signature Park is located at the center of Broadcast Hill, west of Sarcee Trail and btween17th Avenue and Richmond Road. The hill that forms Signal Hill's south border is part of Battalion Park, which honors the four army battalions, with their whitewashed battalion numbers laid out with stones, that trained there during the First World War.
Shopping
Regimental Hill is the dominant feature of Signal Hill A small shopping plaza at Sirocco Drive, just south of 17th Avenue serves the community. West Hills Towne Centre is the area's big shopping centre, with lots of stores, restaurants, a 10-screen movieplex, a Safeway and a Revelstoke Home Centre. Signal Hill Shopping Centre, just north of West Hills will contain a Superstore, Zellers and the first library in the area.
Recreation
Off Sirocco Drive are a boarded hockey rink, ball diamonds and soccer pitches. Tennis courts are just east of Battalion Park. A planned Westside Regional Recreation Centre will be located at the southeast corner of 17th Avenue and 69th Street on the western edge of the community.
A pedestrian overpass crosses Sarcee Trail at 26th Avenue, connecting Signal Hill with Glendale Meadows and Glenbrook, with its Optimist Athletic Park.
Homes
Signal Hill has been developed since 1990, now with 3,000 houses, many with mountain and/or city views. The community is mostly single family homes in a range of styles, being built by Cedarglen Group, Elite, Fancy Shacks, Glen Valley, Homes by Avi, Homes by Wallace, Huskey, Lincolnberg, Maillot,Park Haven Designs, Renaissance, Trico Developments.
